I woke up slow in my hotel in Bishop and caught up on blogging as quickly as I could before I was to hike out back to the trail later in the day. I packed up my backpack, checked out the room and walked to the coffee shop to get a drink and write some postcards. At the coffee shop, I overheard two hikers discussing trying to get an Uber to try to get back to their car at Onion Valley. I told them that we had space for two more and that they were welcome to join, and they were so happy and grateful. I learned their names- Crampa and Granny Gear.

Greg picked us up at the coffee shop and we swung by the post office so I could get stamps and send off my postcards. We also made a pit stop at his house to drop off his dogs, and we had some fun throwing a frisbee for them and munching on apricots off of their tree. I snapped a picture with Greg and Geri and we were back on the road.

After an hour or so, we arrived at the trailhead. I gave another hug and thank you to Greg for all of his generous help getting to and from and around town. Thank you Greg!!!

After taping my foot to support my arch, I was off hiking. The climb felt surprisingly easier than expected, even with a full 6 day resupply. I think I might be getting my mountain legs finally!

I stopped for a bit to talk to my mom and then my sister on the phone before I lost service. The group of Cathole, Liz, Tikka, Sensei, Boop and Gus passed me while I was on the phone, and so did Squirrel Daddy.

I powered on up the hill because I thought I saw the group at the top of the pass and I wanted to ask them where they were going to camp. I ended up not needing to hurry because they were all hanging out up there. I sat down with them for a bit and had some laughs. I and some others were getting cold in the wind so we decided to push on.

Descending back into the valley was so beautiful, and I stopped to snap a couple pictures. It was nice to hike with the group too.

After filtering some water, we made it to camp. We had a fun dinner together and everyone was teasing each other and joking around. Then it was time to hit the hay!
