Day 47, June 3: Mile 670 to 694

I woke up later than expected and realized I had accidentally muted my alarm. I guessed I probably needed the sleep so I wasn’t too upset. I packed up camp and continued up the climb.

I caught up to Squirrel Daddy, having a slow morning in his tent, a little while later. We hiked out together on the next section and had fun chatting. Pretty soon, we stumbled upon some trail magic!! And the rest of the group was there- Boop, Sensei, Gus, Tikka, Liz and Cathole. The trail magic hosted by a guy named Fix It and he had cold sodas, Gatorades, Pringles, and was cooking up homemade pasta sauce with spaghetti on a camping stove. It was amazing!

After relaxing in the shade at the trail magic for a while, we kept hiking and climbed another hill in the hot sun. After only a couple miles, Squirrel Daddy and I came upon the rest of the group again, chilling in the shade by a water source. We hung out there for a bit and I chatted more with Liz and Tikka. The group was super friendly and we were laughing a lot together.

I hiked out from the second break with Squirrel Daddy and Boop and we had a fun time singing loudly to emo songs from our angsty youths.

Finally, we made it to camp in a lovely valley with tons of other hikers around. We ate dinner together as a group and retired shortly after.
